About Me
Thank you so much for taking the time to explore The Mindful Mommie! It is my personal journey to becoming a more mindful and whole person in every aspect of my life. I am no expert (and will never claim to be), but rather a person who has a thirst for knowledge and out-of-the box thinking. With a new-found sense of purpose and a positive outlook, I am striving to be mindful of each experience and opportunity that I am presented with. Enjoy!
A little about me…
I am lucky to be the mother of twins; one who lives with me in San Diego, and one who now lives in heaven. My daughter is the light of my life, and my son is our guardian angel. I have a passion for learning and laughing, and I hope that this site will reflect those characteristics. I try not to take life too seriously, but I now understand how quickly life can change and how precious each moment is. I consider myself to be a little bit modern, and a little bit crunchy. A wannabe clean eating and clean living expert. A hippie in designer jeans. A self-acknowledged control freak who can be a little OCD about certain things. However, these traits serve me well…in most situations! They give me my drive and motivate me to always strive for improvement. I want to be the best person I can be, inside and out, so I can be a positive role model for my daughter and earn a place in heaven next to my son.
After my son passed away, his father and I started a research fund in his honor, the UCSD Parker T. Smith Cerebral Aneurysm Research Fund. You can find more information on my amazing boy and his story there!
